St Joseph’s Prayer Leaders

Hello, we are the St Joseph’s Prayer Leaders.  We meet each fortnight so that we can pray and live out our school mission. We are responsible for planning and leading prayer in class, special class liturgies and keeping liturgical focuses tidy and up-to-date around school.  We are ambassadors of Catholic Social Teaching and Mrs Bryan has commissioned us to help Mrs Jackson promote Catholic Social Teaching within our community.

Shoeboxes 2023 – Option or the poor and vulnerable

In the Autumn term, a team from Samaritan’s Purse visited to ask the children of St Joseph’s to help them collect shoeboxes full of gifts for children less fortunate than themselves. The Prayer Leaders facilitated this operation by promoting the appeal and collecting, checking and organising the boxes.

Easter Egg Raffle 2022 – Solidarity and the common good

The Prayer Leaders were in charge of organising the Easter Egg Raffle. Half of the money will go towards the School Prayer Garden, and the other half will be donated to a chosen charity. Well done for spreading ‘eggcellent’ positivity yet again, Prayer Leaders!

Prayer Garden 2022 - Stewardship of God’s creation

One of our biggest achievements last academic year was to create our very own prayer garden. We did not have a prayer garden, but we identified a need to have a place to call God’s Garden which could be used for prayer and reflection.
