HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY OVERVIEW FOR THE YEAR
Invaders – covering the invasion of Britain focusing on the Anglo Saxons and Scots and then the arrival of the Vikings.
Leisure and Entertainment in the 20th Century - this looks at how society has changed over time.
Wild Waters – looking at where our water comes from, how rivers are formed, including erosion and deposition, rivers of the world and the impact of rivers on settlements.
Marvellous Mapping - allows children to further explore the range of maps available to geographers and to develop their understanding of the key features of maps. They will study a range of maps and atlases, including digital maps, and compare their features.
The Amazing Americas - children will first find out about the continents of North and South America, and the countries that form them. They will also look in more detail at some of the contrasting regions of the Americas, finding out about the landscape, climate and locations of each area.
The Maya – discovering facts about the Maya civilization, locating their ancient cities, researching their religion, writing and number system and how they lived.
