  • Wychavon Social Mobility Grant Scheme

Tue 03 Mar 2020 Mr Sparkes

On 13 January 2020 St Joseph's RC Primary School applied for a grant from Wychavon District Council. We have today learnt that our application was successful and we have been awarded £1,000 which we are delighted about. This money will be used to finance our "Mentoring Beyond the classroom Scheme", run by Mrs Kelly on a Tuesday. These sessions will allow young people, the opportunity to work 1 - 1 with an adult who find themselves experiencing difficult situations such as friendship issues, divorce and bereavement. With this money we intend to extend this provision to allow drop in sessions and home visits for families to help them with anything they are finding difficulty with - it maybe that you need a little help in completing a form for example.

Thank you to Mrs Kelly for running this service and thank you to Leonie Silk, Social Mobility Officer at Wychavon District Council for approving our application and awarding us this £1,000.
